Hi, I’m Sydney, the baker behind Cakes by Sydney. My love for baking started the day my mom bought me my first Easy Bake Oven, and it never really stopped. A few years ago, I made a birthday cake for a friend instead of buying one, armed with a basic decorating kit from Amazon and the skills I learned as a kid. It was such a hit that it quickly became my thing to make all my friends’ birthday cakes. As my skills grew, so did the encouragement to turn it into something more.

In May 2024, I launched Cakes by Sydney and transformed a long-time hobby into a full-fledged custom cake studio in Santa Monica. What began with cakes for friends has grown through word of mouth into a business offering cakes, cookies, cookie cakes, and other treats, plus markets, pop-ups, and events where I get to meet customers face-to-face.

Beyond baking, I’m passionate about wellness, fitness, and clean ingredients, and for me, that includes mental and emotional well-being too. A balanced approach to health means enjoying the cookie or the slice of cake without guilt. I believe in balance, joy, and nourishment in all forms. Creating sweets that make people feel good, inside and out, is truly my favorite thing to do.
